Great Walsingham Barns Cafe.
On a recent cycle ride we came across Great Walsingham Barns Cafe (signposted Textile Barns but there are no textiles!) where we had a lovely home cooked meal of pie, boiled minted new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and gravy followed by lemon meringue and blackcurrant sauce with cream. Delicious! We then had a browse around the galleries in the complex before cycling home.
We have subsequently revisited this cafe on one of our cycle rides and once again enjoyed their famous pies BUT noticed that they are not open during the winter months.

Whitwell and Reepham Railway
On yet another cycle ride today (29th September 2011) we came across this old railway station where much work is being undertaken by the Whitwell & Reepham Railway Preservation Society. It was closed in 1959. Apparently the aim is to relay a single track at this point and to run trains on it. This forms part of the Marriots Way and it is intended to 'share' the track with walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Attempts are being made to find an alternative route past the station for horses but it has not been possible to locate the owners of the land which would form a possible route. Hopefully all aims will be achieved in the end. This venue is for hire.
